Cultivating lightness
No problem are solved by strenght or mental pressure. Neither no academic equitation is performed by pushing and pulling. A horse has a refined mind that wants to understand your most subtle indications.
Discovering Nuno Oliveira led me to steep myself in the study of old equestrian writings and understand the philosophy and discipline of the haute-école rider. But it's not until training with Isa Danne, a french dressage instructor, that this riding could became a reality.
After settling a very strong basis in lateral work at the three gaits, I am now working on more muscles-building exercises such as spanish walk and piaffe.
I go to train in France twice a year, both with Isa Danne and with other instructors from the Grand Prix world, including Michel Mouré or Catherine Henriquet.
Throughout my riding life, i've been working with all type of breeds and characters. Each horse highlight a quality that can afterward be foster in any other horse to help building the whole and harmonious companion.
I moved from California to New York city July of 08.
From August 2008 to August 2009, I've been working for a dressage barn in Warwick, NY, starting, training and showing the sales horses.
Over this summer and fall, I am working for Lisa Pierson, the FEI dressage rider.
